  1. Greed destroys everything. If TEPCO wasn't so worried about their bottom line, they could be far more effective in their explanations and make things better for everyone, including themselves long term. They might lose money now, making things frightening for their investors, but they'd earn the trust of the people and make their brand more appealing in the long run and make themselves and their investors more money overall.
