Eventually the situation will become such that the have nots will realize where all the wealth is, especially after famine and the like, and they will band together to drag that wealth out of their hands. Maybe they might even be generous to allow them to retain their heads, unlike when this happened during the French Revolution.

IS there more wealth today than before? Really? Wealth, in the grand scheme of things, can be described as resources and control of said resources. This planet is finite. Maybe, technically more control is being had over resources that weren't being controlled previously, like wilderness for example. Eventually, unless we can get more resources from away from our very finite planet, wealth will reach a plateau. Then the decision will be, do we allow the very few to control the majority of it, or drag it out of their hands and distribute it more equitably?
