  1. No president is going to bring those jobs back to the US. We don't have a lot of the resources and would have to import them at a high cost to be able to build a lot of different things. Computers are just cheaper to manufacture in China because they are MUCH closer to the resources, have a large number of people educated and trained for manufacturing and could fill a brand new factory in a week. It'd take us months or even a year to do the same, and the workers cost more, it would more than double or even triple the cost of that computer. That's only one example. Those jobs aren't coming back, I don't care who is in office. We need to make jobs training cheap or free, make unemployment better to allow people to get new education, and transition to an economy with significantly less manufacturing. I don't see the Republicans doing any of that, and I doubt the Democrats will with their hollow promises of returning manufacturing to the US.

To be completely honest, I don't LIKE that they do this, but I have to live in the real world, and in the real world, this shit is going to continue. So, even with a best-case scenario, we still need to work more toward a system that allows easier adaptation and transitioning from one dying business to a more thriving one. Better education prospects, more unemployment protection will keep more people out of work and dragging our economy down making things harder for everyone except for the cartoonishly super rich. Maybe one day in the distant future we'll have a united world with every human being able to have a roughly equal standard of living and no tax havens so this kind of issue won't happen, but that's not going to be in our lifetime.
