Mitt Romney's entire 47% speech, about how those people are dependent on government, has one galaxy-sized hole in it.  EVERYONE is dependent on government.  100%!  You think these uber-wealthy slimeballs don't depend on the government to keep the water pumped to their plants?  How about maintaining the roads so they can ship their made-overseas products?  What if a fire breaks out?  What if an angry hoard shows up?  The government, that they are steadfastly refusing to pay for, benefits them greatly.  So, Mitt, hope you understand that we ALL are dependent on government.  We aren't the "rugged individualists" you pretend to be.  Unless you're building your own log cabins while hunting with tools you made yourself and wearing clothes you built out of the skins of animals you killed, you're dependent on someone else, not just the government, but society as a whole.
