The main reason minimum wages are slave wages are because the wealthy corporate business owners want to eat up all the profits they can. They want $200 million a year and so they pay their workers next to nothing. If they'd take a pay cut, or if someone who wants to do their job for less (and there are people out there who'd be willing to do the same job, better and MUCH cheaper), then they could afford much better wages. Honestly, if you're a corporate president and you can't survive on $20 million a year, then you don't need to live. You're a parasite sucking the blood of the people and you need to be done away with. Look at the president of Costco. He takes home $500,000 a year. Not a hundred million, not ten million, not even 1 million, but half a million dollars a year. And he takes the rest of the profit and applies that to paying his workers a decent salary with medical and paid vacation. Why can't ALL businesses do that and thrive?
