The "Ticking Time Bomb" scenario is one of the stupidest rhetorical fallacies in human history.  You've got a fanatical person with a weapon of mass destruction set to detonate in the middle of a metropolitan city and you've got this person in custody.  All this fanatic has to do is wait out the timer.  Torture is only going to serve to strengthen his or her resolve.  Or, like every researched opinion on this matter concludes, give false information.  How many false leads are you willing to chase to stop this bomb?  Careful psychoanalysis accompanied with tried and tested interrogation techniques will result in more positive information and less misinformation.  And any person claiming otherwise is a fool.  Any person in POWER claiming otherwise needs to be removed from power, period.
