  1. Science works on experimentation, observation, and replication. It's a self correcting system. Economics is largely politically based. A liberal economist and a conservative economist can look at the same exact situation and come to wildly different conclusions. Even if there is consensus on an economic issue, there's no way to know it's genuine or manufactured. At least when there is consensus in science, they can demonstrate why they came to that consensus.
