  1. Parenting is hard, it's thankless, and it's underappreciated. Is it any wonder they don't want to do it? Bad thing is, it churns out bad kids who grow up into terrible adults and they cycle repeats. If it wasn't so authoritarian, I'd suggest we need parenting licenses before breeding. A line from the movie Parenthood popped into my head, delivered by Keanu Reeves before The Matrix or even Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure. "...You need a license to buy a dog, or drive a car. Hell, you need a license to catch a fish! But they'll let any butt-reaming asshole be a father."

  3. Bad parenting for sure. I have a nephew who is also half black, but his parents actually parent him. He's got top marks in school, is on his way to a university with a full ride scholarship, and is genuinely one of the most polite kids I've ever known. If this woman's kid is acting like she's claiming (pressing X to doubt) then she is a failure as a mother. If he's not acting like this, her lawsuit is going to do nothing but embarrass him harshly. Either way, this lawsuit will do nothing but backfire spectacularly and ruin someone's life. Terrible mother.

  4. A good parent understands their kids will rebel and put in rules they expect or want them to rebel against, so they don't rebel in bad ways. Kind of like slashing the top of bread dough before baking so it doesn't blow out in unexpected ways.
