Every proposed solution I've ever heard to combat corruption or bad actions by well meaning officials are always fraught with drawbacks. The one I always bring up is the idea of term limits. Sure, you might get rid of a corrupt politician quicker, but you'll also make it MUCH cheaper for corporations to buy their replacements. A lot of the reason it costs so much to be candidates into office is the candidates start realizing how much they're worth and demand more money. There are WAY too many cracks and flaws in the system for any one solution to fix it all. We need comprehensive and fundamental change, which we aren't going to see as long as we're fighting each other.
