  1. A lot of people are attacking capitalism as some sort of monster, and in some ways it can be. The defenders all say essentially the same thing, "it's this or communism." That is SO simplistic a view, binary thinking. It's not robust, laissez faire capitalism or totalitarian communism. If we're smart enough to build the world that we have now, to be able to do things as amazing as put men on the moon, then surely we can come up with a different economic system that is neither oppressive nor all consuming and capable of being far better and more decent than either communism or capitalism.
