If a candidate tells you people are telling them they want more conservatism, you know they haven't traveled the country. At best, they've traveled to rural areas and conservative strongholds. That's a small part of the country demographically speaking. Someone like him would have heard a lot of boos and cries to get lost or go to hell everywhere else. Obviously, no one announcing they're running for president is going to tell us they're getting attacked, but you certainly know you're getting a full-lie or only half the truth, which is worse than a lie.
