  1. Conservatives act like they own certain ideals. Border security, policing, the economy, and personal responsibility among others. We need to show people they don't actually own these ideals and that there are liberal and leftist solutions to these issues that benefit everyone. If we're too busy playing defense, we're always going to be at a disadvantage. When the electorate sees a problem, rightly or wrongly, we have to address it head on, not dismiss it as a non-issue.
