  1. It's called brainwashing. Both sides do it to one extent or another. With the right, it's for the upper class and the large corporations, going so far as to demonize science and blame the poor for their poverty. With the left, it's identity politics and outright racism and sexism disguised as anti-racism and anti-sexism. I'd say the right is far more harmful, as the economic damage destroys more livelihoods than the identity politics do, and the willful ignorance of climate change and other ignoring of corporate destruction of the environment is going to harm us all, left and right.
