The problem here is, essentially, that the idea of a streaming service was innovated, a lot of companies were heavily invested in legacy media, and now they want a slice of that streaming service pie. They don't usually know how to do that, and the few late adopters that succeeded were usually already multibillion-dollar corporations. The other problem is that there are already a myriad of other services and they ALL want to take $20 a month out of your pocket. To get what is available on a cheap basic cable setup with streaming you're going to be spending hundreds of dollars. I imagine that, eventually, we'll end up with cable-like systems of bundled content for much less.

@dogofwar6539 Leftist? What planet are you on? It's pure status quo with a slightly pro-Democratic bias, which is only left in the U.S., it's center right by most standards outside the U.S.
