When Joe Biden said he wouldn't pardon his son, it was with the understanding his punishment would be just and fair. Then he quit the presidential run, backed Kamala Harris who then lost the election, and now president elect Donald Trump is vowing to attack and punish people who he perceived to have wronged him, including President Biden. His choices are, keep his word and allow his only living son to be egregiously attacked and used as a weapon, or deprive a maniac president from using him as a weapon by pardoning him even if it tarnishes his reputation. Not a hard choice, IMO.
