  1. There was a show in the 60s called Laugh In. It was goofy but very popular, especially with the youth of the day. Nixon went on the show and said their catchphrase, "sock it to me!" Though, he botched it, making it sound like a question. It endeared him to some of the voting age youth of the day. It's wise to make yourself seen as part of the people. The Republicans do it nefariously. The Democrats could really beat them at this game, because they actually have empathy.
