  1. We're all ignorant to one degree or another, but MAGA is tremendously and PROUDLY ignorant. I've literally had a conversation with a MAGA where they told me their opinions are fact and my facts are just opinion. You can't argue against that level of stupid.

  3. Geoengineering is at play here. Not as a solution to stop the fire but as the system that's making the conditions that is allowing these fires to be so bad. We spend the last century pumping millions of years' worth of stored carbon in the form of coal and petroleum into the atmosphere. We've already geoengineered the atmosphere. We need a means of either stably sequestering the carbon or dimming the atmosphere to reduce the greenhouse effect. One is adding a new thing into the atmosphere and might have unforeseen consequences, and the other is going to be tremendously energy intensive plus require stable storage in some manner.

  5. The only way a stupid person can convince someone else they're a smart person is if the person being convinced is even more stupid than the one doing the convincing. We've become a deeply stupid nation.
