These are a people who largely live in a manufactured reality. Their news is 90% propaganda and the 10% reality they have is heavily edited. They love to talk about psyops because they are perpetuating one or another to their base. They choose to live in a fantasy world so they assume people not under their sway must also. It's like religious people that assume atheists are also living under a religion and are just lying or that somehow a lack of a belief in a god or gods is somehow a belief in same but pretending not to. They are totally unable to imagine anyone not thinking like them.
