  1. I'm not sure it's fixable at this point. Suppose everyone's favorite progressive manages to win the election. 1) It'll be by a slender margin but with little movement in the opposition's side. 2) There will be absolutely NO cooperation from the Republican side AT BEST. At worst, open hostility and active hinderance. It'd be like lancing a boil, but not removing the infected material. It'll just fester.
