  1. I've already stopped watching cable news. That's because I cut cable. But, if I still had it, I wasn't watching it anyway. 24-hour news channels have addicted people for the most current information, never mind that it takes a week or more to get 24 hours' worth of actual news. I would rather have the most accurate news rather than the most recent. It often takes days to weed out irrelevancies and misinformation. Finally, the sensationalism and lying by statistics is just horrendous to deal with.

Discount the propaganda and what you still have is an addiction to the most current information rather than the most accurate, lying by omission and statistics, and desperation to fill 24 hours with sensationalism and other attention seeking nonsense. You're better off reading a local newspaper than watching even an hour of any 24-hour news channel.
