  1. Sometimes a bad person can do a good thing. Even the worst people have at least brief moments of human decency. It's the motivations I don't trust. Zuckerberg apologizing isn't about a sincere desire to make amends, it's about keeping the money tap flowing. Senators Hawley and Cruz laying into Zuckerberg about the victims of his company's bad actions isn't about helping said victims, it's about gaining political clout and personal attention. If we could harness these selfish motivations to only helping people, I'd be far less critical of said motivations, but we all know this will turn on a dime and become toxic in the blink of an eye.
