  1. I'm pro choice, not pro abortion. I'd rather see a woman terminate her pregnancy than be forced by the government to raise a child she doesn't want or to entrust that child to the tender mercies of the US child welfare system. That being said, the main reason I'm pro choice is, making abortion illegal is going to risk FAR more lives. It'll go back underground. We're so busy worrying about life that might be we haven't stopped to think about the life that's here NOW, and actual life supersedes potential life. Life does not begin at conception like the Christian right tends to say. Just because an egg has been fertilized does not mean it will grow into a human being. In fact, most of a woman's fertilized eggs get rinsed out during menstruation. The only standard that we should hold is viability. Once a baby is capable of surviving outside the womb, then I'll say it's a human being, not one second before.
