The like\dislike ratio was meant to be a benefit not only to the content creator but to the viewer as well. The content creator can see what works and doesn't and change accordingly, that's not going away with the new dynamic. The viewer could tell if the video he\she is watching is good or bad, that they would be wasting their time or if the video (say a tutorial) is bogus and should be ignored. That's gone now. This new dynamic is in no way beneficial to the viewer. It may benefit some content creators in a minor way, but the corporations that post to YouTube are going to benefit the most. How many corporate announcements or movie\tv trailers get ratioed to oblivion and then change how the corporation will move forward? Nintendo's disastrous rollout of their so-called online expansion pack comes to mind. So does the Sonic movie.
