  1. F. Scott Fitzgerald said, "the test of a first-rate intelligence is the ability to hold two opposing ideas in mind at the same time and still retain the ability to function." Pharmaceutical companies make some amazing medications that are effective, safe, and both lifesaving and life prolonging. On the other hand, they are a greedy corporation that often doesn't even invent their own drugs, buying production rights from the government of drugs developed at taxpayer expense in public universities and then gouge the consumer over. Plus, they are absolutely guilty of killing people pushing opioids. We need to remove the profit motive from their industry and charge what it costs to make a drug, not what they want to make massive profits.
