  1. The issue of reparations is a losing one. There's too much emotion involved. Anyone here genuinely think the US government cutting a check to each and every black person in this country would actually be the end of it? Really, we're talking about the poorer black people in this country, not the middle class or the wealthy blacks. Reparations needs to change to a more long-term solution. We want to help poor black people? Fix their crumbling and failing schools, bring works programs to poor black districts, bring new opportunities for the poorer class. If that's what we mean by reparations, I'd be enthusiastically on board. The other way is just going to drive an even bigger wedge between the races, and we REALLY don't need that now. It'll just drive more white voters to Trump's camp.
