I honestly think the majority of the passion over Israel and Palestine is ignorance based. It's become a litmus test for all sorts of ideological purity that have absolutely nothing to do with the region, its history, its people, its culture, or its politics. If someone acts with great fervor over issues, they know nothing about, it's a red flag they've been manipulated by special interests looking to make a lot of money or political hay. I've been consistent on my opinion here, the leadership in the region is lacking and the people are suffering needlessly as a result. I'm not proposing solutions, I'm not taking sides, and I'm not voting in favor of or against any politician over these issues because it's not my business.
