How hypnotized does a voter have to be to have a candidate strike fear and dread into you, so much so you feel the need to get someone else to replace them on the ballot, but still choose to vote for them in the main election just because they have an R after their name. It's like, "well, he raped my daughter, ran over my son, picked my pocket, and spit in my face, but I'd rather have him than the most sane and rational Democrat!"
