  1. People use the phrase common sense to mean sensible, but they aren't the same thing. Common sense is something held common. 3000+ years ago, it was common sense the Earth was flat. It wasn't the least bit sensible. What you may think is sensible might be completely nonsense. Also, just because you have a sense of something doesn't mean it's common.
