The problem with Populism is that people, while they know what they want, they often don't know what they need. That's why this nation was never built as a democracy but as a republic. Laws, not people, determine how the system is run. It's become corrupted over time, which is what Populism is banking on. Both sides of it are selling us that they have the solution, that they can repair the corruption.
