  1. Since you insist on using a medical term here, I'm going to throw back medical understanding here. You often have to treat the symptoms of a disease before treating the disease itself. If you have a bacterial infection and it's destroying a limb, giving an antibacterial won't necessarily cure the patient. You might have to amputate the rotten limb first. It doesn't matter if you treat the disease if the patient's fever is near lethal limits. Also, a lot of cures can kill unhealthy patients. Remember, medicine is poison that usually kills the invader faster than the patient. Let's get the fever down to a safe level before figuring out what the treatment should be.
