  1. From a progressive standpoint, eliminating the police is a disastrous idea. Crime doesn't only effect Republican voters. Disproportionately, they effect people on the left. Removing the police will allow crime to balloon, encouraging vigilantism which, I have to say, is VERY non-progressive. We NEED police, we just need effective and functional police instead of dysfunctional militant police.
