Cooler heads must prevail. Honestly both sides' current leadership is going to have to be cut out of the dealmaking process. They're both far too entrenched in continuing conflict to be trusted with any sort of peace deal. They will both be looking for excuses to scuttle any deal reached. It's going to have to be people on both sides looking for peace, not just an end to the current conflict but a lasting peace, be put in charge of negotiations and agree to third party mediation by a dispassionate, disinterested party. Meaning not the U.S., any regional power, or any group currently making money in the conflict.
