If Empire fired him (saw nothing to indicate he was) and then decide to hire him back because the charges were dropped, then they will have shown themselves to be total idiots. This was a naked money grab. It shows him to be less than trustworthy. Not only that, no real punishment for his crimes will embolden him to try something else in the future to shakedown Fox.
