  1. While I agree in principle, I have to point out the glaring error. These companies will find ways to dodge the fines. More importantly, assuming they don't, all they'll do is raise prices to offset the fines. Gas will just go up to six or seven dollars a gallon. Maybe more. And people will pay it, because we're addicted to fossil fuels like a crack addict is addicted to crack.
