  1. No one ever goes to sleep in a functional democracy and wakes up in fascism. It takes time to build up. Freedoms are eroded under the guise of protecting people, fear is sewn to keep people distracted, power is taken. You start with a functional democracy and over time push out all the vestiges of it replacing them with fascist ideal until that's all that remains. So, yes, the Republican party IS fascist, they are actively pushing us that direction.
