There was a time, not all that long ago, when a presidential candidate would welcome all votes, hell would court all voters to appeal to them hoping to earn their vote. Now we have candidates who don't want people from their opposition and don't really even need them strategically. They're really only running for president in the so-called swing states. Neither candidate is running to win my home state of Oklahoma, because a Democrat knows they aren't winning here and a Republican knows they don't have to do anything to win the electoral college votes here. We need to have a national election for president, not 50 state elections, to ensure presidents have to really earn their votes.
