  1. The layoffs are more likely to artificially give the appearance of financial growth. It's not enough for a corporation to simply be profitable, it has to earn more money each quarter, each year, or it's considered to be stagnating or shrining. Do you know what I call a company that makes a profit year after year, even if it fluctuates? Stable. We need an economy based on stability, not growth. Greed destroys everything.
