I might be afraid to go into a building knowing there was a crazed gunman killing anyone he sees, but I'm also not someone who ever wanted to be a police officer. I don't project the outward appearance and notion of the "warrior cop." Even so, if I were in a situation where my life was at risk and I could either save myself or innocent children, I'd try to save the children. Why? Because I wouldn't be able to live with myself if children died because I was too afraid to help. Makes me wonder if these cowardly cops are having problem sleeping. I'd take odds on how many end up committing suicide because of this event and their reaction to it.
