Let's not pretend that there aren't grifters on the left. There are. We aren't more intellectually perfect or impervious to people pushing ideas we like in order to gain fame or attention. We might not agree on who in the media is or is not a grifter, but they absolutely exist. I think on the right it's more blatant, and on the left it's more sneaky. Hell, on the left, we typically call anyone who is likewise on the left but airs some criticisms on behaviors or policy ideas being championed on the left as grifters for the right. So, the appropriate answer here is, "because we do, and either ignore them or think they aren't grifters."
