  1. By getting rid of the Fairness Doctrine, they all but admitted they were incapable of competing on the marketplace of ideas they're so fond of pushing. Personally, I don't like the idea of subjecting something as important as the ideas we value to something as corrupt and easily distorted as a marketplace, but they do, and they can't win on those terms.
