  1. They aren't nearly as stupid as they appear. They know they can't ouster the president. They know they don't have the numbers, the facts, or even a crime worthy of such an action. Their plan is to muddy the waters, neuter the impeachment process by making it a silly act so that their candidate, the only twice impeached president in our history, look less guilty in comparison. It's a stunt, and we all see it. That's why it's not going to work on anyone that isn't wearing one of those idiotic red hats.
