  1. How is asking that gun purchasers be screened for a criminal record, history of mental illness, or a history of serious violent rhetoric controversial? Honestly, it's like the gun lobby wants mass hysteria so people buy more of their killing machines. And, on that note, I vote we stop calling them firearms and start calling them dispensers of death.
