  1. If we did stop tipping, it would probably have the effect the caller suggested, but it would be actively harming the waitstaff in the immediate. If you really want to effect tipping culture, just abstain from restaurants that don't pay their waitstaff a living wage. I know, they won't advertise they don't, so just avoid restaurants. Cook for yourself.
