  1. "I don't want to stigmatize mentally ill people." Umm, why not? I don't mean to sound cruel, but if there is someone who is mentally ill and that person is in a place that can cause harm because of his or her mental illness, why would we not stigmatize that? People who are mentally ill need treatment and care, not to be walked on eggshells around. If said person is in need of regular doses of psychopharmacological drugs to function and said person is not getting them or abandoning the use of, we should be aware of that. It's true, not all mentally ill people become violent, but they do become violent at a far higher frequency than non-mentally ill people.
