  1. They are working entirely backwards. You're supposed to have seen evidence of a crime and seek out the criminal. They're looking at a person they want to be guilty and then looking for a crime, any crime will do, that they can pin to him. It's guilty until proven innocent instead of what our system of justice is built on, innocent until proven guilty.
