There's a reason our founding fathers limited the vote. Now, I don't agree with all the limitations they put in place, making it basically only wealthy white men able to vote, but I think they were still onto something here. Too many people vote more seriously for American Idol than they do for president. No one should be voting based on feels, they should be voting based on rational and intellectual consideration, which candidate has the policy ideas and the political skill to implement them. The fact that people get so easily duped by flash and swagger shows that we are fundamentally not really cut out as a people for this democracy thing.
