  1. This is less a matter of one group (Fox or Republican party) owning the other, and more a matter of ideological interests. Fox has an ideological identity which demands it push right-wing ideas. The Republican party has a nasty lack of integrity, so are willing to accept aid from anyone willing to shill for them. Power is what they are about, and anything that keeps or maintains that power is good, even if it's otherwise against their ideology in general.
