There are protestors and there are bad actors coming in to start shit. Condemn the latter, support the former. The police, unfortunately, have to act like the latter are the majority. Once violence starts in a large group, it spreads and it spreads fast. Riots only new a few small acts of violence to conflagrate into a massive amount of violence. The police aren't, by and large, the problem here. It's the system set up to protect them and not weed out and remove the bad seeds. Same with the school systems, there are bad teachers but it takes a lot of special effort to remove a bad teacher.
