  1. Republicans can't think past the most immediate issue they're trying to "fix." They used to be the party that thought long-term to achieve goals. Bad goals, yes, but they planned often for decades to get what they want. Now they're making sweeping ad hoc arguments that would not just shoot them in the foot but take the whole foot off. What the hell happened? Was this all Trump and MAGA's influence?
