  1. Conservatives burning things, I believe I have an explanation, possibly two. The first is that they don't like anything liberal or produced by liberals. When something they own, believing they bought good, strong conservative items only to find they now have the taint of liberalism (actual or perceived), they need to rid themselves of it, and preferably by total destruction. Burning works in this regard. The second possible is religious and the ideal that burning something impure or tainted is the only appropriate way to dispose of said thing. It's been a thing since forever.
